Hi Smartsheet Community,

I need some help. I manage a smartsheet portfolio for my HR organization and we have recently consolidated our intake to a common but separate Intake sheet to capture project work, cyclical initiatives, Operational effort etc… Additionally we have a few of our tech teams adopt agile and subsequently, Jira to manage their work items.

In order to connect my intake sheet to Jira I need to a unique identifier column to map to Jira's Issue Key field. How can I connect to multiple projects in Jira with a smartsheet identifier if each project uses a different issue key prefix/sequence? My challenge is, that I need to automate (ideally) the flow of information from my intake sheet to Jira teams backlogs, my Portfolio and even a service catalog but each destination either has an already established sequencing or will need one.

Any ideas?

Can you provide an example of your use case, your text description is a little ambiguous if you have 1 intake with 4+ project types on that intake or you have 4+ intake sheets that just happen to be nearly identical.

In the event you have 4 intake sheets, obviously this is trivial as you would just make 4 jira connector workflows one per sheet.

In the event you have 1 intake but 4 projects on that intake you would just need a project type dropdown in SMAR which you would then use to both prefix your keys as well as filter your SMAR data set so only Project Work goes to Project Work and only Cyclical goes to Cyclical. You will still make 4 workflows but they all target the same place in SMAR just with filters to denote project type subsets.
