How to pull one column of data from one sheet to another and be placed in the corresponding box?

I have one sheet where information is collected for candidates we are looking to hire, and I need a specific column from another sheet of information to feed over to the candidate sheet in the column. The results that are fed over, must align with the correct candidate.

Pictures below for reference. I tried utilizing the Count formula however this will not align candidate information into the right row when it feeds from the other sheet.

Sheet 1: I need the information to populate into the square where the count formula is currently

Sheet 2: Results are entered in the red column and I would like for it to automatically feed into the white column in sheet one, matching up by candidate name

A countif() or a index(match()) are the typical ways to address this. If you are just trying to identify whether or not you have fingerprints and a count would have worked if it had aligned, then countif() is likely the easiest way to do it. =countif({Finger Print Tracking - Results Column}, {Finger Print Tracking - Name Column},[Candidate Name]@row) should fix you up (you might need to fix the naming though).

The idea is that countif() will count all records in your Results Column from your Finger Print Tracking sheet that show the same name from your primary candidate name column on that same row in their Name Column. Hopefully that makes sense! :)

Thank you for the suggestion! The fingerprint results in sheet two are recorded as "approved" or "denied" instead of a number. I think that might be why the Count formula was not fully working for me. Would the Index(Match()) be a better option for text to feed over?

Here is the formula that I am typing in on Sheet 1 in the Fingerprinting Status column, however I am still receiving error messages. It is not pulling any data over from sheet 2. Further thoughts? Range 1 is the results, range 2 is the candidate's name.
