HI there,

This is the maximum limits of SmartSheet.

-       Max rows: 5,000, Max columns: 200, Max cells: 200,000

What if I have a whole excel sheet and need to import into Smartsheet, what to do?

regards,

You will need to limit your Excel sheet to the size limits of Smartsheet before importing.

If you exceed column size, you'll need to figure out how to splice the data. Smartsheet is not a database and there is no "key" that will be used to link the sheets back together.

Depending on the data, you might consider what you gain by moving ALL of the data to Smartsheet rather than only the portion that will benefit from Smartsheet's strengths.

I would analyze the data and the intended Smartsheet design prior to importing anything.

    Callsid,

Without seeing the data, it is difficult to provide a definitive answer.

    Make copies of your sheet.

In the first copy, delete rows and columns until you are  less than the limits.

    Import it.

Make another copy of your sheet from the original.

In the next copy, delete different rows and columns until this sheet is less than the limits.

    Import it.

Repeat until all data is in Smartsheet.

But first comes the data analysis of what you want it to look like once it is in Smartsheet.

    Craig
