Re: Daily Update Solution without the need to open the sheet, use Zapier, or similar
@Andrée Starå this is similar to what I sorted out for myself as well except instead of a helper column, I use a locked helper row (assume I already have a Date column as part of my setup).
I'm curious about the helper sheet method you mentioned. Do you think it would work to run the automation in the helper sheet and cell link the helper sheet date in the sheet summary of the sheets you need to force a TODAY() formula to update?
Re: Issue log linked to requirements on a different sheet
If each sheet has a unique identifier, you can use a cross sheet reference, probably INDEX and MATCH, to bring in info from the other sheet.
So in the Requirements sheet I have
Req01
Req02
etc, with details in columns.
Then in the Issue Log I have
ID001
ID002
etc.
I can put Req01 in my Issue Log, and use Index and Match to pull in the Req01 details from the Requirements sheet.
I can also use Collect and Join in the Requirements sheet to bring in all of the Issues that reference the relevant Requirement. So if Issue ID001 and Issue ID023 both reference Req02, I can put those in a field in the Req02 row in the Requirements sheet so it looks like this: "ID001; ID023"
Obviously, it helps to have your Issues and Requirements available as dropdown choices in each foreign sheet, and you can use Data Shuttle for that, but it's a premium app.
You can add logic to the cross-sheet references so that you are only pulling active Issues/Requirements or other filtering criteria.
Re: Multilingual forms
Hi @SmartWay360
I hope you're well and safe!
I can only see it working if the web engine senses the country and shows different pages with your various language forms.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic weekend!

Re: Give Administrators full vision and access to all sheets
@Jesse Crandall they must use the Assume-User header. Also if a user has left the organization it is best practice to transfer their owned items to a new user, which can be done in User admin. If they transferred it prior to leaving you would have to know who it was transferred to unless their account still has access to it.
Re: Send Dashboard via email - manually and automated workflow
This feature would be a huge plus - those at the Admin level appreciate this type of view the most!
Re: Send Dashboard via email - manually and automated workflow
I'm in favor of sending a copy of the dashboard automatically at a certain frequency like you can for reports.
Re: Send Dashboard via email - manually and automated workflow
Thanks @Libby T ! I really appreciate your support. It's on the roadmap, so every comment and vote up helps increase the likelihood we'll see it soon. Please encourage all the community members you know to also come vote this up. Have a great afternoon and weekend!
Task Completion Percentages
So I have a pretty basic Smartsheet tracker with set of Goals (parent) and group of initiatives(children) taken to fulfill the required goal. I am looking for ways on how to calculate the Completion percentages of goals...
I was looking for something in combination of Time bound, No of child initiatives completed..
Is it possible in Smartsheet's or what other metric we can use to calculate the percentage completion..
I know its a pretty generic but I am looking forward for ideas and any inputs are most welcome
Re: Mouse-over / Alt-text to Dashboard Widgets
A new accessibility law in Colorado (US) is scheduled to be implemented July 1, 2024, that requires all Colorado government entities to meet technology accessibility standards including alt text for images. We use Smartsheet dashboards on our website but will need to look for a different platform if accessibility requirements cannot be met. See
Re: COUNTIF AND for data in 2 columns
Hi Diana! Woo-hoo, time to use new "Analyze Data" feature of Smartsheet!
I made some dummy data to test your scenario:
Then I did 3 things shown on next image:
- Click "Analyze Data" icon on far right-hand toolbar
- Prompt; "How many Devices of each type are in each Location?" [it works its magic, spits out the chart]
- Hover over any Location and Device part of the chart to see the number of devices!
I'm answering you this way, as I find myself using this super-cool feature all. the. time., but if you still need a formulaic way to do this without the AI stuff, let me know and I can help with that too!
Best,
