@Jaime Ciabattoni I got it! I think. I might be back for more questions, but I appreciate ALL your help

@ashdrap YES!!!!!!!! Isn't that feeling awesome?!?!?!
Let me know if anything comes up. I have more meetings tomorrow than I did today so I may not be as responsive, but I'll keep an eye out. :)

@Jaime Ciabattoni Last question, I have parent and child lines and want only the parent lines to count. I have a helper column already how would I add that into the formula?
=COUNTIF({Quarter}, "Q1") Would I add =COUNTIF({Quarter}, "Q1" , {Helper}, "0") ? It comes up incorrect that is why I am asking
-
@Jaime Ciabattoni ANDDD how did you do YTD? Is that the same formula as the others?
-
@ashdrap OOO getting tricky now! Can you send me a screenshot of how it's setup so I can try to recreate it? I do have a sheet that counts PARENTS vs CHILDREN but if I can set it up the same way I'll hopefully be able to get it to work. *fingers crossed
-
@Jaime Ciabattoni I am sooo sorry for all this The 0s are parent and 1s are child

@ashdrap Summing is easy! Check this out:
-
@Jaime Ciabattoni I have figured it all out except the helper column with the parent/child lines. :)
-
@ashdrap Nice! I need more context for what you mean by the helper for the parent/child lines.
-
For the count of Q1,Q2 etc I don't want the child lines counted only the parent lines (main lines) not sub tasks
-
@ashdrap Did you end up setting up a separate sheet for the counts? If so, I don't think that would work based on this help article: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2476811-reference-children-parents-ancestors-hierarchy-functions
Specifically the note:
You may need another helper column (FUN) that says Y/N for Parent.
This may have reached my knowledge, but let me know if you are using 2 sheets or keeping it all in one and I"ll see if I can figure it out with a helper column.

Thank you, I think you're right. I can't use the "Helper" column I have that is 0/1. I think I need to do checkmarks. But I appreciate all of oyur help!!

@ashdrap yes that makes sense. If it's a parent, it can be checked. Then in your COUNTIFS you just add in that you only count if it's checked.
