Comparing Dates Formulas

I'm having troubles getting a formula to work. I need a formula to check a box when a date exceeds the "Goal End Date." The check box will then notify the Project Manager a job will not complete on-time.

I think something like this will work if you put this formula in the check box cell:

=IF(Finish@row > TODAY(), true)
