Enter current date + lock a cell?

Hello,

I'm utilizing a sheet for fielding requests. Each request will be a new line item (row). As soon as information is entered in column X, I want to enter the date it was filled in in Column Y and lock Column Y for only that row. Is this possible either through workflows and/or formulas? Thanks!

It is not possible to lock just the single cell, but you can use a Record a Date automation to get the date column x was updated.
