How to send an actual attachment and NOT the link to the attachment

Is there a way to send an attachment to someone in the Contact cell and not the link to the attachment? I don't want to share the sheet with the resources as it has confidential information.  When I do the workflow, it sends a link and the user gets an error that they don't have permission since they aren't shared.

Unfortunately, it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit this as a Product Feedback or Idea (If it hasn't been added already) when you have a moment.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• It will always be a link, but you don't have to share access to the sheet for them to access the attachment.

If you don't want them to see the whole sheet then you might want to look at using the Dynamic View add on. I think that would help.

Thank you - Dynamic View is not helpful in what I am looking for. I want to use Document Builder to create a pretty PDF that scores their survey and sends them the PDF. I have implemented with a Python script but it would be great if Smartsheet were to solve for this.

@Lori Hight Can you share the Python script you wrote? My script is returning all attachments in the sheet and the link is expiring before I can use it in a Zapier connection.

this is a no brainer request - very disappointing to not have support for it.
