Is there a formula for my parent row to always pull data from the most recent child row?

I have a parent row that I am using the generate a summary of the most recent child row. My team will need to enter rows and in the children section to add their updates and I want to parent row to automatically capture the most recent notes of the child row. Is there a formula to do this?
