Setting up a "hiring system"

Hi

I am currently working on a hiring system for laptops and other IT equipment. Is there a way where you can do the following:

Set up a catalogue of all the kid (im presuming just in a normal sheet)

When that kit is hired out (determind by issue date column) it removes that from the drop down for those hiring the kit out

Requests are done by form and then confirmed via a internal team.

You are correct with setting up a sheet as the catalogue. You would then have another sheet that would be used to collect the requests from the form then link approved request back to the catalogue sheet.

As far as removing the kit from the dropdown, this can't be done with core Smartsheet functionality. In order to do this you have some options.

1. If you have access to the premium app, Smartsheet Bridget, you could use that to update the dropdown list.
2. Write a custom API script that updates the dropdown based on which kits are available
3. Use an add-on such as the Dropdown List Manager: https://www.smartsheetguru.com/smartsheet-dropdown-list-from-another-sheet/

• Another option could be the premium app, Data Shuttle, which can be used to keep dropdown options updated.
• Also, you could have a Dashboard with the form on one side and a Report showing the kits that are available.

Would any of those options work/help?
