INDEX MATCH QUESTION

Hi-
I am using the PMO template.
I am trying to get the Milestone Status for a Proposal Number from the Milestone Sheet to populate the meta data sheet for that Proposal Number. Only two sheets are in play but I can't make the index match work.
Project Meta Data Sheet
Milestone Sheet
The Proposal Number Column is labeled IITRI# on both the meta data sheet and the Milestone Sheet. Please advise. I've been trying to make the formula work. I understand the first part of the formula but not how the second part works or is punctuated, because 1)Indexing proposal number acrross to sheets and matching to the status. Please advise.

Are you able to provide screenshots for context?

First shot is Metadata sheet
2nd shot is Milestone sheet
I am wondering linking to the project plan sheet would work also, but not sure how link to the specific IITRI#, so the index match populating meta data seemed better.

Hi - here is another view of the milestone sheet columns - the milestone sheet has parent w/Child proposal numbers, formatting spacings etc - and then a main proposal number listed under the IITRI # column.

I followed tutorial step by step, but I still get unparsable.
=INDEX({Copy of 141-142MilestoneSheet Range 2}, MATCH([IITRI #]@row,{Copy of 141-142MilestoneSheet Range 1}0))

@Erin W You are missing a comma between the last range and the zero.
