Sheet Sharing - make group email the owner

I tried using a group email and making the group email the "owner" of the sheet and this was the error message I received. @Smartsheet, what does this mean and why am I getting it? I have access to this email account and know who owns this account in our organization.

The user does not have a paid smartsheet account so you cannot make them an owner of the sheet.
