Docusign linking

Is there a way to have the files named when you link to docusign?

What I mean by that is the same way you set up the mapping in the document generator and it gives you the "Output Document Name". There is confusion when the docusign documents go out as they are just titled that my templates are names in docusign. Am I missing a set somewhere?

    Hi Caleb,

    You can define Document name with Document builder by drag and drop a field of your sheet (ex File name) to the "Output Document Name" box as below screenshots. The File name can be dynamic created by formula as in many ways you want.

    Hope this works for you.

    Thank you @Gia Thinh. I have all the mapping in Smartsheets set up just as you show above. But when it sends out of Docusign the file name created is my template name that is in Docusign. That is the side I need to autoname based on form information. It is getting hard to track the docusigns when they are all named the same way.

    Did you drag and drop a field of your sheet to the "Output Document Name" box as above screenshot? This field will be the name of your pdf later.

    @Gia Thinh

    That is correct. The document comes back into smartsheets after signed as the correct document name. The error occurs when Docusign sends out the signature request and even at document complete stage it is named as my template from inside Docusign. So the signer is getting the template name instead of the actual Smartsheet document name. I tried to rename my template in Docusign as {{}} with the column name that generates my files name. No dice.

    " I tried to rename my template in Docusign as {{}} with the column name that generates my files name"

    >> Just enter the column name only into the "Output Document Name" without {{}}

    I have that set correct in Smartsheets as you are saying. Smartsheets is all correct, it’s the Docusign side that is wrong.

    I need to remain the template file name Docusign.

    In my use case, I use Document builder workflow to generate a PDF and attach it to a row. Below is the screenshot of the attached PDF that is named by the "file name" column. This collumn name was used in the "Output Document Name" box.

    According to your use case of E-sign document sent out for signing request, I have not yet tried this.

    Can you show some screenshots to demonstrate your situation so that I can have more information about your setup progress for E-sign?
