Formula Needed. - IF Blank, then Index another cell
Hi,
I am looking for some help with a formula. I need a formula that will "pull/copy" the date entered in the column titled REV. START DATE. However, if the REV. START DATE is blank, then I need it to pull the date from the ORIGINAL START DATE column located on the same row. I was originally using the =MAX([Original Start Date]@row, [Rev. Start Date]@row).....however, I forgot that sometimes, the revised date is prior to the original start date. I have provided a screenshot for reference. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Please help :)

This formula should get you what you need.
=IF(ISBLANK([Rev. Start Date]@row), [Original Start Date]@row, [Rev. Start Date]@row)

@JamesB, thank you! I think this is it!!!!

Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
To add to James's excellent answer/advice.
Here's another option. (the one I personally prefer because it's shorter)
=IF([Rev. Start Date]@row="", [Original Start Date]@row, [Rev. Start Date]@row)
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Im getting #Circular Reference when using both of the suggested formulas above. Any suggestions?
-
Same issue as Mike, get a circular reference error
=IF(Subcategory@row = "", [Task Type]@row, Subcategory@row)
Same with all the other variations I've tried that were marked as correct. Did something change?

Can you clarify what column you're inputting the formula into? Note that it can't be either "Subcategory" or "Task Type" because you're referencing those. Does that make sense?
