Is there a way to autofill a field with a formula, but update it manually if needed?
Hi,
I have been trying different set-ups and haven't been able to find a solution that works. I want to assign an Analyst to a project based on the Analysis Type. Not all of our Analysis Types are assigned to a particular Analyst. Some are assigned as they come in based on workload. I created a formula field that assigns the Analyst based on the Analysis Type and leaves it blank if the Analyst needs to be assigned. The formula works, but I haven't been able to figure out a way to allow the project manager to go in and assign an analyst in the same field if it isn't auto-assigned via the formula. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this or if there is a workaround I could use to get this functionality? Thanks!

Hi @sackerman70
What about using an Assign People workflow instead? See: Assign People in an Automated Workflow
You could set up your Condition Blocks to filter based on Analysis Type and assign a specific Contact for that row. That way it would leave cells blank where you don't have an Analyst associated with a Type.
Cheers,
Genevieve
