Is there a formula that allows me to cap a sum total?

I'm creating a database that allows me to track submissions and points associated with those submissions.

Depending on the topic, there is a point cap associated with the submissions (i.e. you can exceed 300 pts for the year). Is there a formula that I can use that I can use that will help me cap these points? I use a different sheet to do the addition, but as it currently flows over automatically, I was hoping to automate that part of the process.

@S_Ko Hello Sarah, a screenshot would be helpful, but you can do the following, assuming your column for the total you can do, =IF(Total@Row > 300, "300", Total@Row). This will return 300 if over, but the exact if not. You can also substitute the formula for the Total@Row to remove the helper column.
