#BLOCKED
I currently have a column formula =SUM([\[People\] PM CO Billable(hrs)]:[\[People\] PM CO Billable(hrs)]) to calculate the total number of hours in the column but the first cell is coming back #unparseable even though there was no information in that cell and the rest of the cells in the column are coming back with #BLOCKED. What am I doing wrong?

What are the actual column names you are using in your sheet?
-
[People] PM CO Billable(hrs) is the column
-
When you are creating your column reference, click and drag a few cells within the column so you end up with something along the lines of
=SUM([\[People\] PM CO Billable(hrs)]1:[\[People\] PM CO Billable(hrs)]5)
And then remove the row numbers. This will ensure the column name reference is definitely correct.

When doing this I am still getting a message for a syntax error for a column formula. Why is that?

Convert it to a cell formula first. That way we can see what errors pop up and can troubleshoot from there.
