Automated Timesheets

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the correct section to ask this, so if not then I apologize. I'm looking into the possibility of creating an automated timesheet system using a scannable barcode (or QR code), so that once scanned, there is an automatic "clock in" or "clock out".

In testing I was able to scan barcodes/QR codes without issues, however after scanning a manual adjustment of time needs to be made.

My question is if I'm overreaching functionality or is this idea possible? Am I able to point a Time formula to a cell or column in order to record the time of a scan? I'm just not sure what to do so any help would be appreciated.

It's possible, but it's pretty advanced. I developed something like this for a client to track how material flows through a factory. (how long time on each station)

I used QR codes in combination with the URL-query feature.
