INDIRECT FUNCTION

Hi, I've been trying to make a drop-down list based on another drop-down list but I can't without the INDIRECT function.

Can someone please help me with this?

Dropdown lists in Smartsheet are static. Without a third-party tool, updates to a list has to be manually done.

Alternatively, if your initial data entry is done via a form, then you can create separate dropdown list fields/columns and configure logic on a field to show or hide subsequent fields.

In the example below, my form has 4 dropdown lists. When the form is opened, only the dropdown list "Protein Type" is displayed. One of the other 3 becomes available depending on the user's selection in "Protein Type".
