why does the formula overwrite in one cell when I create a different formula in another cell in the

Is there are way to have different formulas in cells in the same column?? Every time I update one cell the other cell changes to the formula in the new cell and vice versa.

Right click on any cell in the column you are working on, then click "Convert to cell formula" all the way at the bottom.
