Pulling selective data from a smartsheet and put it into columns of another smartsheet

So I have two smartsheets

1. Portfolio Sheet
2. Project plan

In the portfolio sheet, I have the row 1. It has Columns StartDate and EndDate in that row. In the portfolio sheet, on that same row there is a Column called "Project Plan" that has a hyperlink to the actual project plan. Once that link is created in that column, I want smart sheet to go out and grab the StartDate and EndDate out of the project plan and bring it back to the portfolio sheet and update that row's StartDate and EndDate columns automatically. I know in the portfolio sheet I can link individual Cells back and forth but I don't want to have to do that each time. Is that doable and if so, how can it be done.

There are two ways I know of to pull individual project data to a portfolio-level sheet or report.

1 Use the Control Center's blueprint summary sheet.

2 Use Sheet Summary Report.

If the "Portfolio Sheet" can be a report, I recommend the second, as the core product includes the feature. If the "Portfolio sheet" needs to be a sheet, you can use the Control Center, but it is a premium app.
