How do I make dependencies between projects? I read "cell linking" article/help but can not really understand well. I have a big project (master) and a few smaller projects. I'd like to call smaller projects from the big project.

You would need to cell link a date from the master project to your sheet for the smaller project. Then use the dependencies feature to build your timeline.
For example, if you have a milestone in the larger project that influences a task in the smaller project, then you would have the same milestone row in both sheets and cell link the dates. Whenever the date on the master project sheet is updated, the smaller project will reflect that date and and dependencies you set will calculate on the new date as well.
