the “Parents” auto populating based on the start and end dates of all children

Hi,
Could you help me with a formula or steps to auto-populate the parent field based on all the children? and where do I add the formula?

What would the logic be? Do you want the earliest start date and the latest finish date, or do you have some other logic?
