# Need help with a IF

Options
edited 01/30/24

Trying to create a formula where it would originate a % calculation based on a Yes or No from another column. New to this so not sure on how to proceed. This is what I have so far

=IF([30C Low income or rural]@row = "Y" , (CAPEX@row * 0.30")]

I hope you're well and safe!

Try something like this.

```=IF([30C Low income or rural]@row = "Y" , CAPEX@row * 0.30
```

Did that work/help?

I hope that helps!

Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Hi Andree, it is not calculating the percentage.

Can you post an image that shows the formula typed into the cell? You'll need to make sure the columns referenced are the correct names:

[30C Low income or rural]@row

It's also searching for the exact letter "Y" in that cell, so if there's anything else (e.g. "Yes" or "Y - ") then the IF statement won't find a match, so it will return a blank cell.

A quick way to see if this is what's happening is to add a value to display when there is no matching value:

=IF([30C Low income or rural]@row = "Y" , CAPEX@row * 0.30, "No Y Found")

Cheers,

Genevieve
