Auto Prompt
I am trying to create a smartsheet for Attendance for my office. I want to give the option in the smartsheet where my Supervisor can select the nature of offence - it gives them the recommendation of what is the action needs to be taken rather going to the procedures to read everything and find out. Is it possible to create something like that
For eg: It's the 2nd offence, when the supervisor selects 2nd offence - the next cell when should be Recommended Action - for eg "written warning"
Can anyone give me an idea

Hi @NDaddycool
I hope you're well and safe!
You could have a separate sheet with all the instructions and then connect it using cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Thank you for your response. Can you please give me a bit more idea on INDEX or MATCH Formula?
Regarding the VLOOKUP you mean I list for eg all the Offences like Offence 1 / 2 / 3 etc and list the recommendation as well?

Happy to help!
I'd recommend using INDEX/MATCH.
In one column, you would have the options that can be selected in the main sheet as an offense and then a column with the recommendations that we would connect back to the main sheet.
More info.
The structure would look something like this.
=INDEX({ColumnWithTheValueYouWantToShow}, MATCH(CellThatHaveTheValueToMatch@row,{ColumnWithTheValueToMatchAgainsTheCell}, 0)
Make sense?
