Report - shows only parent projects (or tasks)

Hello everyone,

So far, I'm pleased with an interaction in this community - I get responses quickly. I really appreciate! 

In reporting, I'd like to show only parent projects (or parent tasks), not showing sub items. How do I select parents?

One way that I accomplished this was to create a column with an identifier for the parent rows only. Then when I created the report I only pulled rows that contained the identifier.

I agree with Mike. I would create a column with a flag to denote "parent" I use the following formula:

=IF(COUNT(CHILDREN(Column:Column)) > 0, 1,0)
