Report filter permissions?
I've created a report that I want users to be able to filter, but I don't want that filter to be saved (e.g. the next user who opens the report will see no filter).
I've tried changing user permissions from viewer to editor, but with both they're not able to apply a filter (it's greyed out).
Then I tried creating a saved filter from the source sheet and applying all possible options from the filter I want them to apply in the report, but it won't let editors or viewers change the filter.
Is what I'm trying to do possible? Can a user apply a filter that isn't saved as part of the report?

You must provide at least admin level permissions for a user to be able to adjust a report filter. Once that user adjusts the report filter, that filter is saved to the report for everyone until someone else changes it again.
I would suggest allowing users to filter the sheet as they can create their own unshared filters. If you have access to the premium add-on Dynamic View, you can give them the filtering capabilities without actually giving them access to the sheet.

Hi,
I have a similar problem where collaborators can’t alter their filters or views despite having admin level access.
Any ideas why?

Paul, with the Dynamic View are you able to use this even for unlicensed users? Or must you be a licensed user in order to modify filters on a report?

@Siobhan Users do not need a license. They only need the correct sharing permissions.
