When up loading an excel sheet into smartsheet and its over 200 columns what are the next steps to make it happen.

can I suggest that while Smartsheet will improve the collaboration opportunities not available in Excel, just uploading an excel sheet into Smartsheet will only achieve the above and 200 columns is an awful lot if this data is to form part of a workflow, which is where Smartsheet can really bring benefits to you.
I would review your ways of working and use Smartsheet for what it is good at, which is getting the Work done by teams and collaborators.
If you really want people to access the Excel sheet then link to it from your Smartsheet that gets the work done.
