Shortcut Widget for Folders
Help! I am trying to build out a dashboard with a Shortcut Widget to multiple project folders that hold different sheets. I don't want to link directly to the sheets, more so, I would like the shortcut to direct the user to the project folder. Whenever I click on the folder icon in the Widget, nothing populates! I've done this before so I know it is possible, but I do not know what I am doing wrong!

I created a dashboard for a project and I used to be able to add a shortcut for an entire folder. Now when I try to link a smartsheet item it only lets me link individual sheets or reports I can not link an entire folder. Is there a way to do this or is this no longer an option?

Here is an example of what I was able to do last month

You can use the widget Shortcut and select Website and use the folder URL.

Yes that is what I did but when you go into linking a smartsheet item it only lets you select individual reports or sheets. You can not link a folder anymore. Once you click on the folder it auto drops down and you can only select individual sheets. I can not just link the folder "4. April 2024 WFI"

I can confirm I also don't have the option on Smartsheet Item to attach anything but the individual sheets i am able to select all the sheets in the folder that end up showing as a list, if I do a Box attachment, I'm able to attach a folder but that's not really helpful for the sheets, I don't 100 percent recall being able to add a folder from Smartsheet item but that would be a handy feature especially for sharing workspaces created.

It was a feature last month, as you can see I did it. But they made an update/change on how folders and sheets are opened - I have been having some weird issues when selecting/unselecting for reports but have found a way around it but not able to figure out a work around for this

What if you go to the folder tree and right click the folder you want to link to and choose "Open in New Tab". Then copy the URL from the new tab and use that as a Website shortcut?

That works but see how this screenshot has the folder icon above. I want it to look clean with folders rather than hyperlinks.

Mine stopped allowing me too. Did you ever find a fix? I did this about 2 weeks ago
-
I definitely want this feature back. I was in the process of organizing and realized today that it no longer works.
-
I haven't found a fix quite yet. Really hope there is an answer soon!

Hi all,
Jumping in here to let you know that we've had several reports of this and are currently investigating a fix - the rough ETA for this is within two weeks, but I'll keep you posted here.
In the meantime, you can link directly to the Folder or Workspace by using the URL of the item instead of finding it as a Smartsheet item.
Cheers,
Genevieve
