Permissions for non-licensed users

Hi All - I have a Smartsheet license and built out a project plan in Smartsheet which I'll be sharing with my team members who are non-licensed users. They will have editor access either way. Does anyone know if they will be able to enter or change formulas in cells which I've created as the admin? Thanks for your help in advance!

Yes they will be able to enter or change formulas in cells if rows or columns are unlock.

Just jumping in here to clarify one detail 🙂

What free collaborators can do on your sheets depends on what Plan type you have.

• On Pro Plans, editors need to be licensed on the same plan as the Pro plan sheet owner.
• On Business or Enterprise plans, editors can update cell content without being licensed or on the same plan.

@Genevieve P. thank you so my for clarifying that detail. Most of the users are going to be free unlicensed users. I have the pro plan as the admin. If that's the case will they then not be able to edit any formulas in the cells?

Yes, that's correct. On a Pro Plan, your shared users will need to have a license on your plan in order to edit or change cell contents. Your unlicensed users will be able to view content, just not edit.

Yes, Editors can sort columns.

Whether or not they can save the Sort depends on their member type and plan type. Here's a page you can reference for actions that users can take based on sharing permission levels and license type (free or paid):
