Update Requests/Card View Date

Hello,
We have a few date fields, and when an update request is sent, when the actual start date is entered, the end date field is pre-populated with the actual start date that is entered, and does not allow for us to change the date in card view or the update request but we can change the date in grid view. Any idea why this is happening?

Is the end date calculated based on the actual start date with a formula? If so, you can not change the end date in card view or the update request because it is a field with formula.
