How do I copy and paste multiple cells from an excel spreadsheet into a SmartSheet?

I need to copy a group of cells from an excel spreadsheet and paste that into a column of SmartSheet, how do i do that?

I use ctrl+c, ctrl+v making sure to select the same number of destination cells as the source (excel). Does that work?

I usually use my hot keys. I've not tried using my mouse, as I generally don't use that for copy/paste anyway.
