Task Status

I need a formula that would provide the following: when the actual date has a date, status would be complete, when the target date is in the future, status would be upcoming, when the target date is in the past and the actual date is blank it would say past due.

I have two columns, one is the target date and the second is the actual date of the task.

Try:

=IF(ISDATE([Actual Date]@row), "Complete", IF([Target Date]@row > TODAY(), "Upcoming", IF(AND([Target Date]@row < TODAY(), ISBLANK([Actual Date]@row)), "Past Due")))
