Data Shuttle adding rows not triggering automation

I have an automation set up that when a row a added and [*department* Completion Status] is empty them change [*Department* Completion Status] to "WIP"

Does Data Shuttle trigger automations to run? if not is there a way to work around this?

Yes it should trigger the automation to run on row add if you are adding rows (either DS is setup to add rows or setup to refresh the sheet).

this is the automation and it does not change the status

Is your Data Shuttle workflow doing a sheet refresh or doing an Update?

You might try changing your trigger to be "when rows are added or changed"
