I am trying to set up a metric sheet that pulls from helper columns on a sheet. The helper columns are set up to count values in a multivalued drop down list. I am want to use the date (specifically the month) and then for each column in my metric sheet I want to use the value above in the column to count items per month. I will add screen shots.

So I have my date column I am trying to reference, and all my helper- columns that are returning a value that is in the 'What info is missing?" column

Here is my metric sheet that I am trying to set up.. for some reason when I get to the 2nd and 3rd columns it is giving me problems with 'cross referencing" I wonder if it has something to do with the $ in the formulas or just the formula in general?

The first column seems to work..

but the rest get all messes up as start as i try and do them.. like changing the refences in second column gives me this…

It is like all columns are connected somehow and I do not want them to be.

I have a feeling what you're doing is setting your references for the first formula, but then when you reuse the references in the next column you're Editing the reference like reference {* PRE - OR Checklist completion audit for range 1} and repointing it to the next column.

When you set a reference on a sheet, that reference is set for the entire sheet to be used in all columns. If you edit the reference, it changes for all formulas that use that reference. You want to instead setup a new reference for the next column over.

It also helps to name your references so you can remember what they point at, rather than "range 3" which is quickly going to become impossible to remember.
