Red, Yellow, Green, Gray automation formula help needed for numerical ranges

Question

I have a column called "metric data" and I am trying to create conditions for the status column (Already made it a symbols column) for Gray, Yellow, and Green

Green = 1 (100%)

Yellow= 0.01- 0.99 (1% to 99%)

Gray= 0%

=IF([Metric Data]@row = 1, "Green", IF([Metric Data]@row <= "0.01- 0.99", "Yellow", IF([Metric Data]@row = 0, "Gray")))

No color is populating for Gray and yellow appears on 0% and not on the 35%. Green does just well. What am i doing wrong?

=IF([metric data]@row = 1, "Green", IF(AND([metric data]@row < 1, [metric data]@row > 0), "Yellow", IF([metric data]@row = 0, "Gray", "")))
