Hi @pmillikin
Smartsheet’s timeline view currently doesn’t allow manual reordering of bars or specific placement adjustments. However, you can try customizing the sort order by using a helper column with numbers or categories, then sorting the sheet based on that column. This will control the vertical order of bars in the timeline.
Yes, I did this but it is ugly, not a solution to my ask. I don't want to have to edit the sheet or sort order whenever I need to tweak the visual. I would like to be able to edit the Timeline picture - a workaround could be exporting to powerpoint so I can move them around for a specific report. The helper column has it's own issues - please see my other suggestion for improvement on this: https://community.smartsheet.com/discussion/132783/timeline-swimlanes-shouldnt-show-if-field-isnt-populated-for-items-in-view#latest
*In our timeline, we are grouping projects by team. I was able to control the sort order of the timeline view (i.e. which team's projects showed up grouped first, 2nd, 3rd, etc) by going to Grid view and editing the column properties for that corresponding "team" column. I re-ordered the team-based contact list based on how I wanted it to show up in the timeline view. Once I saved & refreshed, BOOM the timeline view was sorted in that order.

However, this workflow is currently dependent on having photos stored inside cells, since row attachments alone cannot be used directly in document generation.. If Smartsheet allowed attachments to be displayed as thumbnails in cells (as a reference), document generation…
In the Resource Management Plan Settings in Control Center, there is no way to link the Client and Project Code fields even though they are not Custom fields and part of the first 3 fields you enter when creating a new project. I can't select them in the Custom Resource Management Information Fields because they are not…
I’d like to see user analytics for WorkApps. I’ve checked the user report available in the Collaborator Pack, but it only shows how many times someone has clicked into the WorkApp each month. I’d like to know: Which resources (dashboards, sheets, forms, etc.) are getting the most traffic? Where are people spending their…
