How do I copy cell values from another sheet?
I have multiple sheets that serve different purposes, but the information is similar. I am trying to set up a workflow where you only have to update a parent sheet. The column names cannot be equal so I was not able to use the copy row logic for this which is fine. I at least wanted to set up a formula to copy cell values from the parent sheet so that field would update in real time. Smartsheet AI indicated it was not able to generate a formula to copy values from another sheet. You can copy cells very easily within the same sheet. I would assume the same should apply except you reference another sheet. Is there a workaround to this? For example, I want to link the Notes for a specific cell from Sheet 1 into a cell in Sheet 2, so Sheet 2 notes update as I update the notes in Sheet 1.

Hi @Baylee P. - Have you given any thought to using cell links?

I haven't used this feature before. It didn't come up in my research so I must not have been clear enough in my prompts. A coworker just suggest this as well. Thanks!

Hey @Baylee P.
To copy cell values from another sheet and update them in real time, use Cell Linking. In Sheet 2, select the target cell, then choose "Link from Cell in Other Sheet." Navigate to Sheet 1, select the source cell, and confirm the link. This creates a live connection, updating Sheet 2 whenever Sheet 1 changes. Let me know if you need help setting it up!
