How to Use MAX Function to Find the Most Recent Date?

I tried to use the MAX function mentioned above but I got an error. What I want to do is compare 3 cells and output the date that is the most recent. Can you help me modify the formula, if that is what is needed? Screenshot below.

If you are comparing those three cells, then you would use: =MAX([Last Modified Date]1:[Last Modified Date]3)

What formula did you use, what error did you get, and is the [Last Modified Date] column set as a date type column?
