What Is Smartsheet To You?

Over the weekend I was having a discussion about Smartsheet with another user. They said Smartsheet is just a project management tool and I said I disagree because Smartsheet does way more than help manage projects.

This discussion had me want to come to the Smartsheet Community and inquire how do y’all use Smartsheet.

• I use Smartsheet to make games with my grandkids to teach the logic, strategy, and how to have fun while skilling up for the future.
• I also use Smartsheet for planning (capacity, headcount, financial) when working with clients.
• And a whole host of other things.

Haha, Most of the clients I work with use Smartsheet for everything BUT tracking projects. At least in the traditional Gantt chart style. Projects or something else is often tracked, but in a different format to allow many points of data collection from internal and external users

Here's some of the solutions we've implemented in Smartsheet

1. Trucking logistics tracker with a calendar showing driver assignments as well as metrics to show cost per mile, etc
2. CRM to track Customer intake to sales assignment through closing the deal
3. Higher level tracking of construction projects that includes periodic updates from sub contractors
4. Vendor PO request system
5. Fleet tracker to track a company's fleet with the ability to update it with a monthly data dump to update each vehicle's data from another system

The list could go on, you get the idea :)

things like figuring out formulas or something else?

@Darren Mullen We mostly design and build word games. The fun parts are the automation ideas (logic) and UI development (dashboard). The kids come up with some wild ideas.
