VLookUp Formula

Hello - I would like to use a VLookup formula to pull dates into a column of a sheet I'm working on. The scenario: Column 2 needs to pull in a date from the reference sheet for the same company of the row i'm working on. The company name may not be exact.

Example:

Sheet 1 - work in progress

Column 1 Column 2

Company name Opening date (date to pull in)

Sheet 2 - Reference Sheet

Column 1 Column 2

Name Date

=INDEX({Opening Date},MATCH([Company Name]@row,{Company Name},0))
