Adding Client Comments without Accessing the Underlying Project Plan Sheet

We are building collections for our clients to access project dashboards. On the dashboard, I have 2 reports that show tasks from the project plan. I want clients to be able to add comments on the tasks shown and have created an additional column for this information. I do not want customers to be able to access the underlying project plan as it contains internal only information. The only way I've found to be able to have the clients add comments is if they have access to the project plan. Are there other ways to do that or other suggestions?

  • Do you have access to dynamic view? Dynamic View will allow you the controls (similar to a report) to only show certain rows/columns to people who need to add comments but not see all of the underlying data. To leverage a report, you would need to provide access to the underlying project plan.

One other option you could consider would be to set up a workflow automation for an update request. Once a certain condition is met on the row and update request could be sent to your client to provide comments back.
