Conditional Mapping with Generate Documents feature

I have an idea for a Smartsheet enhancement but wanted to first ask if what I am hoping to do is currently possible.

I would like to have the option to add conditions to the PDF mapping.

I am trying to create custom education schedules for learners. Each learner has different classes they are required to take. I would like to add a checkmark condition for each class. So, if the learner needs to take that class, the checkbox column for that class would need to be checked in order for the class info to get added to the document.

I hope this makes sense. Curious if you think this would be a good enhancement idea.

Thanks!

    Hi @CJett

I am not sure how you've your sheet configured, but I would typically have columns as generic (like Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, etc) for the maximum amount of classes and fill in the names of the classes in these columns based on each student. So, student 1 might have Class 1 as Math, Class 2 as AI, etc., while another student will have different values. You can then have placeholders in your PDF templates for Classes 1 through the max and have the data filled in from the respective columns.

    Thanks,

    Hi @AravindGP,

Thank you for your response. It's slightly more complicated than that. This is for nurse residency education and we have various specialty education pathways, for instance, Critical Care, Birth Center, Pediatrics. Each pathway has a whole set of classes. Depending on the nurses' experience, they may be able to "test out" of a class. So, I'd like to have a calendar type PDF template to map the classes to but generate custom schedules based on the classes that individual needs.
