Smartsheet jobs Dissappearing?
Has anyone else noticed a steep decline of posts for Smartsheet jobs on LinkedIn, Indeed and other sites? This past month (Jan 2025) I've done searches daily and have found 0 jobs (even old posts have disappeared)! I find it hard to justify getting additional certification when job demand just isn't there.
I still get calls from random recruiters every other day, but when I follow up - they either never respond or tell me that the job was put on hold or cancelled.

Maybe it has something to do with the new licensing schema, forcing companies to buy licenses for casual users making few changes. Our license count went up from 3 to 23 required, based on the number of users editing sheets.

I think @Laurie Olson likely nailed it. With any change of this significance, companies are going to stop and see if their path forward is still sustainable in light of the new cost structure. It does result in a totally new value proposition and I fear it may put it only within reach of companies with deep pockets. The math doesn't really work to justify buying a license when a user only updates a small amount of data regularly or is an infrequent user.

Wow I didn't know that licenses were now required for casual users, even just those entering data?

hi @ADehoyos,
yes, even just those entering data.

The only way around it is if they enter data in a form, or respond to a status update request. Once they enter a sheet or report to update information, they are considered a licensed user, and that includes comments.

Another issue this presents is that users now have the ability to create their own sheets. As a sheet owner, they can add users to it by sharing to their email address. This user then becomes a provisional user that Admins must look for. I know Smartsheet's position is to buy Control Center. But for just a couple dozen users, there is no point, and especially if you are not using the project management piece, and are only using forms and workflows. If this was a full blown PM system, with a backend database, and the ability to propagate new fields to all sheets, I could understand charging for every editor.
