Variance
Hi,
I am trying to set up a variance for budget. I don't know how to do it and I have reviewed previous discussions, but it doesn't help. I need to create a variance to display difference between 2 fiscal years. eg. the variance between FY 25 and FY 24.
Does anyone have an Idea?

You will need to use whatever column names you have in your sheet.

How are you recording the source data?

So, this is an example of what it should look like. the 2025 FY would be populated with the budget amount and subsequently 2026 would be populated. Once populated, I want the variance column to be populated with the difference (a higher 2026 amount and lower 2025 amount should display without a minus, a lower 2026 amount and higher 2025 amount should either be displayed with a minus in front or in bracket or whatever Smartsheet does)

In that case, you would use a basic subtraction.
=[2026]@row - [2025]@row
