I really need help with this exact situation. Source sheet 4 parents and static children. Main sheet has a drop down selection of those 4 parents and wanting to auto populate the rows from the source sheet and I cannot figure it out…

    Hi @godwinm2,

It looks like you’re wanting to automatically have the children under each sign type in the source sheet populate on your main sheet for each project, depending on its sign type.

It’s not currently possible to automate this, but you could achieve this by manually copying the parent row (which will copy all of its child rows) from the source sheet to the main sheet, then select the Sign Type in the dropdown column and update the name in the Project column.

For example, when you have a Project that is of Sign Type ‘Cabinet’, you could right-click row 15 in your source sheet (the “Cabinet” parent row), then select Copy to Another Sheet and select your main sheet. In the main sheet, you would then select Cabinet in the Sign Type dropdown column for that row, and in the Project column, you’d type in the project name eg Marathon Charleston, SC.  You can then move the parent row in the main sheet as required.

    Hope that helps!
