    Hi @Hunter Taylor , I'm trying to set a workflow to automatically email a certificate when I change the status to 'attended'. I saw your proposed solution in this post, I don't find the send 'Row Attachment' option that you mention. Is that something that doesn't exist anymore?

    I can only see the options below ('an attachment') and that doesn't send any file. Am I missing something?

    Hi @Ivonne Mejia,

    I believe that selecting the “An attachment” field within the message customisation (as seen in your screenshot) is what Hunter was referring to. 

    However, attachments and comments are not always included in alert notifications - take a look at the following specifications for when they will and won’t be included:

    • Alert actions in time-based workflows don't include comments and attachments.
    • Alert actions in change-based workflows only appear when the attachment or comment is modified during the trigger event. The alert doesn't include attachments and comments that existed before the trigger event. 
    • Update request and approval request actions include all new and existing attachments and comments.

    Therefore, if your notification workflow is set up to “alert someone” and is triggered by a change in the sheet, it will only include attachments that have been added when the automation is triggered. If it’s set up to alert someone and the trigger is time-based, attachments will not be included.

    It sounds like your trigger is change based, since you want the email to be sent when the status changes to ‘attended’. You could change the action block to be an update or approval request to ensure that all new and existing attachments are sent when the workflow is triggered.
