Workspace vs sheet

Why would I want to move a shared sheet to the workspace? what is the difference or advantage of using workspace?

@CKWI I find the main advantage of using a workspace is that you are setting a permission level for each individual user in there. As you add new documents to the workspace it automatically applies that same permission level for that user every time a new document is added (Whether it be a report, sheet, etc.). That way if you plan on sharing a lot of collaborative documents with a group of people, instead of having to assign individual permissions to every document you just drop it in the workspace and it automatically applies all permissions. We have 70+ people in a workspace and when I add a document to it they all get access immediately, at their own unique permission level.

Please note that in a workspace you cannot lower someone's permission level on a specific document. So if you assign "Brian" with workspace permissions as "Editor-Cannot Share" it will make that Brian's level of permissions for every document added. You can't lower him to viewer for just one document; you'd have to lower him to viewer for all documents in the workspace. However, you can increase someone's permission level on a document by document basis within a workspace by sharing that document individually. So I could have a new confidential spreadsheet that Brian Needs to share and just increase his permission on that one item to "Editor - Can Share", or "Admin."

    I hope this helps.
