Trend curve/ Variation
Hi everyone, hope y'all good.
Im a PMO here in Brazil and Smartsheet ir our standard tool for management projects. Im tryng to create columns what we call "Trend curve" when we see the variaton of the real execution between the tasks, but when we set the project, it is impossible to put some condition in the cell (IF/IF(AND).
It is possible to put some automatic flow that we can see the variation based on the real time each task is done? Or put some Automation.
Image example:
The idea is to see how the variation reflect on the project. Get the real duration and put on the columns Tendence with an automatic flow, so we can see the reality vs Baseline.

Duration is something else - duration is based on the actual start date and end date of the task. It's calculating working days from Start Date to End Date.
for the Baseline it's to set up the variance between actual dates that something happens comparing the the planned dates.

If you're creating a new text column you shouldn't have an issue putting in a formula. Are you getting an error message?
Could you paste the formula you're trying to enter? -
Have you considered setting up the Baselines in your project sheet? I think it would resolve your issue as variance between planned date and actual date would calculate automatically.

Hi @Adam Costello,
It makes a Circular reference since I put a simple formula based on "Networkday([Tendence1]@row + [Real Duration]@row. Then put another formula on Tendence 1 taking his predecessor (Column Tenden 2) + 1.
Thanks for your awnser. -
Hi @kowal,
Yes, I tried for this way, but this way i need to put in my Real Duration time column manually, right?
