Rename columns in existing projects - Global Updates

    @Kam114 - You have to not do it in the template. You have to do it through Control Center. Then you select the column that you wish to update and then it will update the template as well through the update. So go back and change the column name back to the original, and then you can make the update. :)

    @Kam114 - Unfortunately Smartsheet Control Center does not currently have an option to delete a column through a global update. Make sure to upvote and comment on this product suggestion in the community pages. Link below.

    @Stefan , I am trying to change a column name in several existing projects, that I have already changed in a sheet template for my blueprint. The option is not coming up to select the original column title that I want to change in existing projects in Global Updates (Modify a column). How can I rename columns in existing projects??

    Thank you! That worked. Now i have a few extraneous columns from making this mistake with previous changes. I essentially have duplicates of certain columns and some are dead/disconnected columns that now just sit in my program summary sheets. How should i get rid of these?
